From historic Middelburg you can drive straight into the beautiful polders of Walcheren. Here you can enjoy beautiful views and a wonderful rest. Cozy Zoutelande awaits you on the coast.
Sunny Saltland
In the polder you can see two flour mills. The Biggekerke dates from 1712, the Zoutelande from 1862. Get off just below Zoutelande to walk up the high dune tops. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the North Sea and the Zeeland polder. In Zoutelande you can enjoy a well-deserved break with a picnic on the beautiful beach. Sint Janskerke is a picturesque hamlet where time seems to have stood still.
Beautiful Middelburg
Middelburg has a rich past. At the time of the VOC, Middelburg was even the second most important city in the Netherlands. In the old center of Middelburg you can still see buildings that remind you of this golden period. You pass the Koepoort, a baroque city gate from 1735.
