Go for a nice bike ride in the area of Geldermalsen and let yourself be carried along the banks of the Waal. Along the way you will pass through cozy pictures with beautiful sights, such as castles. Ophemert is the starting point of this route. From here you set course for the village of Varik with the striking church tower the'Dikke Toren\\\' from the 15th century, a remnant of the medieval village church. Mill De Bol was built just outside the village in 1867. De Waal leads you to Waardenburg with the castle of the same name. It was built here in 1265. The current castle is only half its original size! You continue cycling through the beautiful Betuwe, a bustling area full of fruit orchards, water and lovely dike villages. Really enjoy.
