Hilversum is surrounded on all sides by heaths, country estates, forests and other small-scale nature reserves. This route takes you through these nature reserves in the direction of the Gooimeer, but you also cycle a bit through the center of Hilversum.
Heaths, forests and estates
The center of Hilversum is the starting point of this route. From here you cycle to the southern edge of Hilversum and then explore the Goois Nature Reserve. You cycle along the Hoorneboegse Heide and through the Loosdrechtse Bos to the village of Hollandsche Rading and then to Lage Vuursche. In the vicinity of Lage Vuursche you will find numerous estates with beautiful castles, such as Paleis Soestdijk. This route takes you along castle De Hooge Vuursche, but you can of course also choose to deviate from the route to view even more castles. Then you continue to Laren through the Baarnse Bos.
The last part of the route takes you through Blaricum, Bussum and through the Spanderswoud. You will eventually end up in Hilversum again. Settle down in one of the many restaurants in Hilversum and enjoy a tasty snack. Afterwards you can go to Hotel Ravel for a comfortable overnight stay. Then you can try route 533228 rested from this hotel the next day.
Castle De Hooge Vuursche
De Hooge Vuursche Castle is located on the De Hooge Vuursche estate. This country house was built at the beginning of the 20th century. There used to be a country house from the 17th century, but this was probably demolished in 1815. The garden around the house is beautifully landscaped with an imposing pond. In 1940 there was a fire in the current country house, after which the house was refurbished. Today the castle is used as a conference center.
