Tour of estates around Zeist

Your route starts at Stayokay Utrecht - Bunnik. From here you will immediately cycle past Fort Rijnauwen. This fort was built here between 1868 and 1871 as part of the circle of fortresses around Utrecht. Then you drive through the lush forests and moors of National Park De Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Via Zeist you cycle to Landgoed Vollenhoven and Landgoed Oostbroek. Landgoed Vollenhoven was originally owned by the Oostbroek monastery, but in 1651 it was sold to a private individual. After that, the estate passed from owner to owner. After 1848, the estate and the manor house, coach house, orangery and other outbuildings have changed little. Many historical elements have therefore been preserved. Estate Oostbroek is also centuries old. The current country house on the estate dates from 1887.
