The first kilometers will stretch your legs while you look out over the water of the Western Scheldt. You then turn south, so that you enter a landscape of vast grasslands and creeks. Here you will discover refreshing tranquility and characteristic places. For example, you pass through the hamlet of Oude Stoof, a name that refers to the madder stew that used to be here. Further on you will pass through Hengstdijk and Schapenbout. In Spui you pass the Eben Haëzer, a flour mill from 1807. There is also a beautiful flour mill in Hoek: the Windlust dates from 1856. The route then takes you through Paradijs, after which you cross the canal from Ghent to Terneuzen. After a delicious lunch at Taste Churchill, you can cycle back to the parking lot at your leisure.
