The villages of Rinnegom and Egmond aan den Hoef are surrounded by a beautiful dune area on one side and vast agricultural lands on the other. Put on your walking shoes and relax in this wonderfully peaceful area.
Egmond aan den Hoef
The village of Rinnegom is the starting point of this route. From here you walk through the dunes to Egmond aan den Hoef. In this beautiful area near the old fishing village of Egmond aan Zee you will find so-called'blonde\\\' dunes. These dunes are a lot lighter in color than the dunes in the rest of the area. Furthermore, the dune water has formed numerous water pools here that form the habitat of, among others, the natterjack toad and various types of salamanders. In Egmond aan den Hoef you can admire beautiful historical buildings, such as the monumental Slotkapel. Part of this village has a protected village view. Outside the village you will find bulb fields that are full of beautiful flowers in bright colors in the spring.
