A beautiful walk along the Geul, castle Schaloen and old Valkenburg. You continue your way across various landscapes, meadows, forest paths and parts of built-up areas. This route starts from Parkhotel Valkenburg where you can start with a nice cup of coffee and a piece of Limburgse Vlaai. You walk this 11.3 KM and return to the starting point. Have a delicious cup of soup or a tasty sandwich at the end of this wonderful walk.

Parkhotel Valkenburg is a special hotel. The building, designed in 1890 by architect Pierre Cuypers, has a rich history, is now a national monument and the oldest hotel in use in the Netherlands. All 82 rooms and the restaurant have been recently renovated and the hotel has a special atmosphere. Due to its beautiful location in the Heuvelland and close to Maastricht, it is the ideal base for beautiful cycling trips. Back at the hotel you can relax in the extensive wellness area. The kitchen is French oriented and when the weather is nice it is wonderful to relax on the terrace from all the impressions of the beautiful surroundings.
