From De Kippesthee Coffee & Tea, you can take a lovely walk through the Drenthe countryside. At junction 25, you'll reach the Kibbelkoele, a swimming lake with a sandy beach surrounded by deciduous trees. Then you'll enter the Sleenerzand, a wonderfully peaceful woodland area planted around 1930. You'll pass two war memorials here, both dedicated to Allied pilots whose planes crashed here during World War II. About halfway along, you'll come to a clearing in the middle of the forest, where you'll find a prehistoric burial mound surrounded by posts. Finally, you'll pass Hunebed D49, also known as the Papeloze Kerk (Papless Church). It's said that hedge sermons were held here during the Reformation. After your walk, enjoy a delicious drink and pastry at De Kippesthee.
