Cycling tour through Nijmegen

Nijmegen boasts not only a beautiful old city center, but also other neighborhoods and city parks worth seeing. This cycling route takes you through Goffertpark, built between 1935 and 1939 as part of a job creation program. No machines were allowed to be used; all the work was done by hand. Further on, you'll cycle through the woods of Heumensoord and Elshof. You'll follow the Maas-Waal Canal for a few kilometers, after which you'll arrive at the Waalkade: one of Nijmegen's most iconic locations. Here you'll see the Besiendershuis (House of the Besienders) dating from 1525. Further on, you'll pass the historic Valkhofpark with the St. Nicholas Chapel dating from 1030. You'll make a stop at the Looijenga Chocolaterie (Chocolate Bakery) before returning to the starting point.
