Cycling from Nijmegen to Winssen

In Nijmegen, you can enjoy a peaceful bike ride through green surroundings. You ride across the grounds of Radboud University, and further along, you pass through Goffert Park, which was laid out between 1935 and 1939. You cross the Waal Canal, and shortly thereafter, you cycle into the countryside with its vast grasslands and farmlands. In Winssen, you can dismount for a delicious lunch at De Arend. The restaurant is situated in beautiful surroundings, where you can see, among other things, a freestanding 15th-century church tower. Next, from the dike, you enjoy many kilometers of the floodplain landscape along the Waal. Just before Nijmegen, you pass L13, a listening post on the Liberation Route. Along the famous Nijmegen Waalkade, you see several beautiful old buildings, such as the Besiendershuis from 1525. Finally, you pass through the city park Het Valkhof.
