Cycling from Nijmegen to Winssen

In Nijmegen it is peaceful to cycle through the greenery. You drive through the grounds of Radboud University, further on you pass through the Goffert Park, which was built between 1935 and 1939. You cross the Waal Canal and a little later you cycle into the countryside with its vast grasslands and arable lands. In Winssen you can get off for a nice lunch at De Arend. The restaurant is located in a beautiful area, including a detached fifteenth-century church tower. Then you can enjoy the floodplain landscape along the Waal for many kilometers from the dike. Just before Nijmegen you pass L13, a listening point from the Liberation Route. On the famous Nijmeegse Waalkade you will see some beautiful old buildings, such as the Besiendershuis from 1525. Finally, you will pass through the Het Valkhof city park.
