Tour of Curfs' Pit and Geulzicht Castle

Your route starts at Eetcafe 't Voske. Today you will take a beautiful walk past the Kuil van Curfs and Geulzicht Castle. Walking straight through the hillside forests between Berg and Meerssen, you first head to the Curfsgroeve, a former marl quarry. Dutch land goats keep the area open. Due to the formation of the hollows, the sun is intensely hot, while the shady forest slopes are cool and damp: pleasantly varied, which is why many special plants and animals can be found there. The Limburgs Landschap Foundation manages it and has made it partially accessible to the public. A 30-meter-high staircase, a viewpoint offering a beautiful view of the quarry's walls, which are up to 50 meters high, and unique nature: magnificent! You walk back via Geulzicht Castle on the Geulhemmerberg, now a care home.
