Tour of Ooijpolder, Nijmegen and Millingerwaard

Your route starts at the nice hotel and living room cafe Oortjeshekken. The Ooijpolder is part of the Gelderse Poort, an important nature reserve in Gelderland near Nijmegen. The lookout tower offers a beautiful panorama over the Groenlanden and the Ooijpolder. In Nijmegen you cycle over the nice Waalkade. Get off for the Valkhofpark, a hill that offers a beautiful view of the Waal. In the park are the St. Nicholas Chapel from 1030 and the Barbarossa ruins, a centuries-old remnant of the demolished Valkhof castle. You continue over the Snelbinder, the bridge over the Waal built especially for pedestrians and cyclists. From the bridge you have a beautiful view of Nijmegen. Via Landgoed Doornik you continue along the northern bank of the Waal, to the Millingerwaard.
