Description

You will cycle a beautiful rural route through the lovely Brabant village of Maarheeze and various nature reserves. Your starting point is the authentic Maarheeze. The Somerense Heide consists largely of heathland reclamation, just like in the nature reserve De Vroolijke Jager, the conifers here have been planted on former heathland. In Nederweert is the Sint-Lambertus church, the striking tower dates back to 1467. Get off at De Beren Nederweert! A little later you will cycle into the hamlet of Boeket. Here you will see the beautiful Sint-Antonius chapel from 1867. The beautiful Weerterbos is one of the few truly old forests in the area. Red deer live here, in the autumn you can join a rutting excursion. Get off at the lookout tower for a beautiful view of their habitat!
