Walk Ravenvennen

This route takes you to the Ravenvennen, a nature reserve that is part of the Maasduinen National Park. It is a wonderfully peaceful walk here, ideal for a day of relaxation. The Ravenvennen consists of a mix of heathland and dry coniferous and deciduous forest. You will also find dozens of fens in various sizes. They came into being as blown-out depressions in the river dune sand that once lay on the Maas. In 2011, the Butterfly Foundation designated the Ravenvennen as a 'Dragonfly Reserve'. In addition to many beautiful dragonflies, you will also see water birds and plants such as water lily, cotton grass and sundew. Many types of mushrooms grow here in the autumn. About halfway through your walk you will walk over the Witte Berg, an impressive drifting dune. Back at Jagersrust you can enjoy a drink and a delicious meal at your leisure.
