Your route starts at Camping Klein Haneveld. Be sure to get off at Boerderijmuseum de Lebbenbrugge. The back house was built around 1400, where people and animals lived together. Around 1550, a typical medieval transverse house was added. Borculo was granted city rights in 1375 and in the center you can see beautiful monuments such as an eighteenth-century watermill. Borculo was purchased in 1777 by Prince William V of Orange-Nassau, which is why King Willem-Alexander bears the title 'Lord of Borculo'. Groenlo is a fortified town with an eventful history. During the Eighty Years' War, Groenlo was besieged several times and the town also came under fire during the Dutch War in 1672. Most of the fortifications were demolished, but the bastions, moats and cannons can still be seen.
