Cycling through Oldenzaal, De Lutte and Lonneker

Cycling is always beautiful in the Northeast Twente National Landscape. Characteristic of this area is the essen and Kempen landscape with its high-lying fields. The many hedgerows and streams give the country a private and intimate atmosphere. You will also find larger areas of forest, such as on the eight-century-old Hof Espelo estate, which you pass through shortly after boarding. On the Markt in Oldenzaal you can still see some beautiful centuries-old monumental buildings. You will also pass the St. Plechelmus Basilica here. The oldest parts of the surviving building date from the twelfth century. On the edge of De Lutte you can enjoy something to eat at South American Restaurant Las Banderas before getting back on the saddle. Finally, you pass the beautiful Lonneker mill, built in 1851.
