The route starts at Hotel Cafe Restaurant De Lindeboom. You'll soon pass the large open quarry near Ratum, where geological deposits from the Tertiary period were found relatively close to the surface. History is still tangible here! Along the Dutch-German border, border markers dating from 1766 made of Bentheim sandstone stand. In Oeding, Germany, you'll see the Neo-Romanesque St. James's Church from 1911 with Art Nouveau elements in the windows. Via Burlo, you'll cycle back to the Dutch border. Near the hamlet of Kotten, you'll pass a vineyard: the Reeborghesch. White and red wine are produced here. At junction 30, you'll find Berenschot's Watermill. Dating back to 1652 and still in operation, it's probably the only mill with an Art Deco façade.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
