Cycling route Heuvelrug Touches Rhine

The route takes you past Huis Doorn, the beautiful country house of Emperor Wilhelm II who lived in exile in Doorn for years. Amerongen Castle is on the route, as is the Tobacco Growing Museum in Amerongen, which shows the history of tobacco growing in this area. Part of the route includes the historic Amerongse forest, with the Amerongse mountain of 69 meters high. From Driebergen to Doorn, Leersum, Amerongen, Rhenen and Amerongen Castle you drive to the Lower Rhine. This river that meanders so beautifully forms a completely different landscape.
