Centuries-old castle ruins around Hertme

Even before you have even got on your bike, this route takes you past the place where Weleveld Castle used to be. Then you set course in the direction of Almelo. Just before you reach the edge of Almelo, you cycle further to Weerselo. Along the way you will pass a farm that was built on the remains of Grotenhuis Castle. There used to be a small manor here, but hardly anything remains. At the end of the day you can settle down at Restaurant't Hertme\\\'s Ambacht. Enjoy a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner on the sun-drenched terrace or inside the cozy restaurant. One of the towns you cycle through is Borne. Take a look at the streets of Borne and admire all the old buildings and sights.
