Cycling between Renesse and Zierikzee

On Schouwen-Duiveland it is quiet cycling. The first kilometers you ride along the Prunje, the oldest polder on the island. The former swamp has been returned to nature and is now a beautiful bird paradise. On the left you look out over the Oosterschelde National Park. In Burgh-Haamstede you pass, among other things, a partial replica of the ring rampart that once stood here to defend against plundering Norsemen. Through the nature reserve de Vroongronden you ride to Renesse. Get off for a pit stop on the cozy terrace of Restaurant HeerlijkZo, before you ride into the vast landscape. You pass through the green Schuddebeurs where several beautiful country estates were built during the Golden Age. Finally you cycle through Zierikzee. Get off here for a look at the historic harbor.
