Tour through the woods of Oud-Heverlee

The walking route through the forests of Oud-Heverlee starts and ends at walking junction 16, located at CC De Roosenberg, near the nature reserve'Vijvers van Oud-Heverlee\\\'.

The tour takes you past the Chapel of Our Lady of Steenbergen, a Baroque building from the 17th century. Then you walk through the Kouterbos and Meerdaalwoud, which are part of the Brabantse Wouden National Park, and pass the Chardonnay Meerdael wine estate.

You also pass through the adventurous play forest Everzwijnbad. At walking junction 102 you cross the Dijle and walk through Doode Bemde, past Neerijse Castle and the St. Rochus Chapel.

The route takes you along the IJse and Leigracht streams, and passes the Langerodevijver, an excellent place for hikers and bird watchers. Finally, you walk through a part of Oud-Heverlee back to your starting point.

The route is fully signposted with hiking junctions.
