The Meldert-Hoegaarden-Hoksem route starts and ends in Meldert, a village in the province of Flemish Brabant and a sub-municipality of Hoegaarden. The route takes you past the Prins Kardinaalhoeve with its keep and through the Meldertbos, where you will find Meldert Castle, now the Sint-Janscollege.
In Hoegaarden you can enjoy a terrace or admire the beautiful St. Gorgonius Church in rococo style from the 18th century. Along the way you will pass the ruins of the Chapel of Marolles, an ideal place for a picnic and beautiful views.
The route also takes you through Hoksem, where you can visit the working watermill and the St. John Evangelist Church. Then you walk along the Mene stream, through the swampy Mene valley, back to Meldert. Here you can admire the St. Ermelindi Chapel and church or enjoy a terrace again.
During wet rainy days, boots or sturdy shoes are recommended.
