Walking in the countryside of Winterswijk

In the rural area of Winterswijk you can enjoy a peaceful walk through nature. This route is largely on unpaved paths, so make sure you wear sturdy and waterproof walking shoes. First you walk through a scenic landscape of grasslands, fields and forests. From the Bekeringweg you walk into Willinks Weust, a small-scale nature reserve with heathlands and blue grassland. On the left you pass a quarry that has been in use since 1932. Of the three excavation areas, one is still in use for the extraction of limestone. The other two are protected nature reserves. Further on you cross the Ratumse Beek twice. You will see some beautiful farms along the cobbled roads. The route starts and ends at Holiday Park Hofparken Wiltershaar: the ideal base to explore the Winterswijk National Landscape.
