Walking route Remmerstein Estate

Between Veenendaal and Rhenen you can take a walk on the Remmerstein Estate. You start this tour in the Kwintelooijen nature reserve. In the 1970s this was still a sand quarry, but now you walk through a beautiful forest rich in deciduous and coniferous trees. You climb the Easter Hill, which has a height of approximately 53 meters. Judging from the name, Easter fires were probably lit here in pre-Christian times. A starry forest has been planted around the top, from the center you can clearly see how the beech avenues extend. Further on you will pass Landhuis Remmerstein. The original fifteenth-century fortified house was demolished around 1800, the current country house dates from 1912. You descend through the woods to the starting point. At House of Bird Kwintelooijen you are welcome for a snack and a drink.
