It is beautiful to walk in the rural area of Zelhem. This route takes you through the Achterhoek scenic landscape. You will partly walk on unpaved paths, so make sure you wear good shoes. First you walk along the Wolfersveen, a small-scale nature reserve. The name comes from Woltmark or Woltveen, where 'wolt' stands for low-lying forest. Further on you walk through De Meene. The name of this hamlet referred to the fact that the 'Meenegronden' used to be used communally, such as for hay and wood extraction. The route leads you further along a country road between the fields. It is wonderfully quiet here, the only things you hear are birds. From junction S49 you walk a bit through the forest on Landgoed't Zand. Time for a nice meal at the Heeren van Wolfersveen.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
