Tour of Vorden and Ruurlo

The area around Ruurlo and Vorden is wonderful for cycling. Here you can drive leisurely on car-free roads through forests and past vast fields and characteristic old farms. You will also pass a number of outdoor areas. To start with, the Kieftskamp Estate is named after the lapwing that used to be common here. Further on you pass Vorden Castle, a beautiful moated castle whose history dates back to the Middle Ages. You can also see beautiful old buildings in Vorden itself, such as the thirteenth-century Village Church. You cycle through the forest to Kranenburg, further on you arrive in picturesque Ruurlo. Ruurlo Castle is just outside this town. The castle originally dates from the Middle Ages, but has been renovated several times. It houses a museum. The route ends at Boerderijcamping'n Ibink.
