Walk Vresselse Bos and Dommeldal

This walk through the rural area of Sint-Oedenrode consists of two loops. The first takes you through the Vresselse Bos. This small-scale nature reserve was planted about a century ago on a drifting sand ridge. You mainly walk between fragrant Scots pines, but you also see oaks and beech trees. It is wonderfully quiet walking here, ideal for a day of relaxation. Further on you walk past the Hazenputten, an old fen. The second part of the route leads you over unpaved paths along the Dommel. All you hear is rippling water and the chirping of birds. In between you can walk through the Sonnius Park, which is located on the edge of Son. After the walk it is time for a delicious meal on the cozy terrace of De Vresselse Hut.
