Cycling in the countryside of Sint-Oedenrode

Between Mariahout and Sint-Oedenrode it is wonderful to cycle on car-free roads. First you drive a bit through the Dommeldal. You cross the river twice: step off to enjoy the view. Then you cycle past the flowery fields along the Everse Akkerpad. Thousands of poppies bloom on the dry sandy soil in the summer. To the left of the path, at the edge of the forest, is a small chapel in honor of Saint Martin of Tours. The building is a project of the carnival association De Deurdouwers. A little later you cycle past vast fields and grasslands. On sunny days, the trees along the road cast beautiful shadows. The last part of the route you drive through the Vresselse Bos. At De Vresselse Hut you can enjoy a cozy terrace.
