Castles route Kampina and Boxtel

Your route starts at Boutique Hotel Bed&Bos. You are immediately in the middle of nature! Vlakij you will discover the Scheeken, a nature reserve consisting of four hundred hectares of moist deciduous forests, swamp forests, meadows and poplar landscapes. The name is a contraction of the words schei and eiken; parcel boundaries used to be marked by schei trees, especially oaks. Near Boxtel you will pass Kasteel Stapelen, a beautiful spot. The castle originally dates from the thirteenth century, but it was extensively renovated in the nineteenth century. In the village of Esch you will see several characteristic long-façade farms. A little further on you will pass Kasteel Nemerlaer, which was built in the thirteenth century. You drive there beautifully via an avenue through deciduous forest. You drive back via the heathland and forests of De Kampina.
