Tour of the Ruinen and the Echtens Paradise

Your route starts at LUXURY eating and sleeping in Havelte. In addition to natural beauty, Drenthe also has old thatched Saxon farms and characteristic villages where time sometimes seems to have stood still, such as Ruinen. On the village green you can see the twelfth-century Mariakerk. You drive to Echtenerzand on rural roads. In this quiet nature reserve it is wonderful to cycle past fragrant pines and heathlands. It is not called the Echtens Paradise for nothing: you will find beautiful drifting sand with juniper bushes, a real picture! You cycle close to the Gijsselterkoelen or Gijsselterplassen, beautiful fens in the heathland. Near junction 77 you will pass a nice forest cafe where you can take a break. You drive back via Ruinerwold and the beautiful white country house Huis Overcinge.
