Description

Your route starts at Slotboom Tweewielers. Your route quickly leads past Landgoed Kieftskamp, a beautiful rural area with many old trees, an eighteenth-century country house and historic farms. Kieftskamp Castle is surrounded by an extensive estate, which is open to the public. This castle was named after the lapwing, which used to be common here. In the hall you can see the lapwings again, in the rococo stucco on the ceiling. Den Bramel is a country estate that originally dates from the fourteenth century. The current country house was built in 1726. A little further on you come through the old village centre of Almen. The village church originally dates from the fourteenth century. It is beautifully situated on the bank of the Berkel river, which meanders beautifully through the landscape here.
