Tour of Berkel and Den Bramel

Your route starts at Slotboom Tweewielers. Your route soon leads past Kieftskamp Estate, a beautiful rural area with many old trees, an eighteenth-century country house and historic farms. Kieftskamp Castle is surrounded by an extensive estate, which is publicly accessible. This castle was named after the lapwing, which used to be common here. In the hall you can see the lapwings again, in the rococo stucco work on the ceiling. Den Bramel is a country estate that originally dates from the fourteenth century. The current country house was built in 1726. A little further on you pass through the old village center of Almen. The village church originally dates from the fourteenth century. It is beautifully situated on the banks of the Berkel river, which meanders beautifully through the landscape.
