Historic city walk through Schagen

The cozy Schagen is ideal for a nice city walk. In the town you will come across numerous historic buildings, but also the rebuilt Slot Schagen. The start and end point of this route is Hotel Marktstad, where you can enjoy a snack or a drink on one of the beautiful terraces. During the route you will pass the Vreeburg Farm and Carriage Museum, which gives you an idea of life in Schagen around 1900. In the center of Schagen you can admire some beautiful seventeenth-century buildings, including on the Loet and on the Market. During the route you will also pass Museum Battle of the Somme, located in the eastern castle tower of Schagen: the first and only museum in the Netherlands about the First World War.
