Groeneveld Castle is an estate in the municipality of Baarn. An 18th century country estate where regents and merchants used to come to enjoy the good life some distance from the city. The estate has a vegetable garden consisting of a flower garden, orchard, herb garden and vegetable garden.

De Hooge Vuursche Castle is located in the woods around Hilversum and it was built in 1912. Dutch artists have been involved in the design of the castle.

Drakensteyn

The history of Drakensteyn dates back to 1360, when this castle was first written about. In 1634 Ernst van Reede became the owner of Drakensteyn. His son Gerard had a new, octagonal house built in 1640. The house was then recognized as a ridderhofstad and Gerard became a knight. He then also built a presbytery, a school, a mill and an inn in the village.
