Cycling through the nature around Arcen

Your route starts at B&B La Dominotte Arcen. There are some beautiful nature reserves waiting for you around Arcen. Get on your bike and enjoy the rich natural beauty and tranquility. The ruins of the Schanstoren are a fifteenth-century remnant of the former fortifications of Arcen. Just outside the village you pass Arcen Castle and the Wymarse Mill from 1677. Near Hasselt is the Hoogwaterhuis with Anna Chapel, a beautiful old monument. From the dike you have a beautiful view of the floodplains and the Maas. In the forests of the Zwart Water you mainly see oaks and birches. You also cycle along the Venkoelen, an old Meuse meander. You also drive through several contiguous forest areas: the Lommerheide and the Leermarkse Heide.
