Cycling through the nature around Arcen

Your route starts at B&B La Dominotte Arcen. Around Arcen, there are several beautiful nature reserves waiting for you. Get on your bike and come and enjoy the rich natural beauty and tranquility. The ruin of the Schanstoren is a fifteenth-century remnant of the former fortifications of Arcen. Just outside the village, you pass Arcen Castle and the Wymarse Mill from 1677. Near Hasselt, you will find the Hoogwaterhuis with Annakapel, a beautiful old monument. From the dike, you have a beautiful view of the floodplains and the Maas. In the forests of Zwart Water, you will mainly see oaks and birches. You will also cycle along the Venkoelen, an old Maas meander. You will also cycle through several contiguous forest areas: the Lommerheide and the Leermarkse Heide.
