Endless walking through nature reserves near Oisterwijk

In this area you will find the Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen and the De Kampina nature reserve. Enough space for endless walks. Enjoy the peace and quiet in the woods and along the fens, which are different every season. This route takes you through nature at its best.

Green forests and small heathlands
This was once a vast heathland area with many fens. There was hardly any tall vegetation there, so you could see for miles across the heathlands. The first forests were planted in this area around 1800 and this was repeated again in 1840. This is how the varied landscape full of forests, heaths and fens was created. You will also walk through the De Kampina nature reserve and along part of the Logstevelden. Here you will find, among other things, the agricultural enclave of Balsvoort. The last farm in Balsvoort was inhabited until 1984 and demolished in 1986.
