Nature lovers who like to jump on the saddle to look for peace and natural beauty can indulge themselves in the Twente-German border region. This route takes you through the natural bocage landscape on both sides of the border. Your route starts at Restaurant Klein Afrika on the Hulsbeek, a former country estate. Around Oldenzaal you will find numerous country estates, beautiful areas to cycle through. In the Lutterzand you will find a mix of sand drifts and forests with birch and oak. Over the centuries, the Dinkel has carved out some steep banks in this beautiful nature reserve. Just across the border you cycle through the bird-rich and moist grasslands that surround the ancient raised moors of the Syen Venn. You drive back through the heart of Oldenzaal, a former textile town.
