Tour of the woods near Soest

Your route starts at Restaurant De Egelshoek. Between Soest, Bilthoven and Baarn you can enjoy cycling through the foothills of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. You will find extensive forests here, but also stately estates and villas. You also cycle a few kilometers on the former Grebbe Line. Many stately country houses have been built on and around the Utrechtse Heuvelrug over the centuries. Such as Pijnenburg, a white plastered country house from the seventeenth century. On the other side of the road you will see Staalwijk, a stately terraced farmhouse from 1834. Prins Hendriksoord is a country house from the nineteenth century. You will also pass Soestdijk Palace, a sight that you can visit. Between junctions 87 and 82 you cycle over the Grebbelinie dike, which has been restored to its former glory in recent years.
