This route takes you straight to Zwijnsbergen Castle. You cycle straight through the pleasant Vught to Boxtel where you see Stapelen Castle. The oldest mention dates from 1293. You can get off at De Koekenbakker during your trip. Then you cycle up the Kampina. The name is derived from the Roman word campina, wasteland. In August you see a beautiful color mosaic in purple hues through the flowering heather. You come across many fens, such as the Belversven, one of the most species-rich fens in the Netherlands. From its north-south location you can immediately see that it was formed in a different way than most fens here, which run southwest-northeast due to wind erosion after the last ice age. It is probably an old river bend of the Maas, which ran much further south a long time ago.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
