Description

The Mastbos is one of the oldest coniferous forests in the Netherlands. In the sixteenth century, this forest supplied wood to the nobility of Breda. In Dutch history, VOC ships and the Spanish fleet were also supplied with supplies by the trees from this area. The Mastbos can therefore be seen as a natural museum piece of our country. Between the ancient trees you will find long avenues, vistas and lakes. The route leads you through the forest towards places such as Effen, Hellegat and Rijsbergen. After about 32 kilometres in your legs, you will arrive back at your starting point. Time to relax!
