Close to Veenendaal you will find the tip of De Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Explore the green areas such as the Plantage Willem III and the Amerongse Bovenpolder by bike and get to know the towns of Veenendaal, Elst and Amerongen along the way. You start at Restaurant de Bosrand. You get on your bike and head towards Amerongen. This village is mainly known for Amerongen Castle, which is located south of the village. You cycle through the Amerongse Bovenpolder via Elst and the rolling nature reserve Plantage Willem II to Veenendaal. Many horses and cattle live in this area and there are prehistoric burial mounds and a snowmelt valley from the last ice age.
