Tour of Rolde and Ballooërveld

This route takes you through the surroundings of Rolde. You drive here through National Landscape Drentsche Aa. From the saddle you look out over a landscape of grasslands, bushes, hedgerows and ash trees. You regularly pass a Saxon farm. In Rolde you will pass two dolmens and the church green with the fifteenth-century Jacobus church at a short distance. Further on you cycle onto the Balloërveld. Here you imagine yourself in the Drenthe of around 1900, the heath landscape has hardly changed since then. And almost as quiet. Via Balloo you cycle to Deurze and cross the Deurzerdiep. Get off to enjoy the beautiful stream valley landscape before you drive to Geelbroek. This is one of the source areas of the Drentsche Aa. The route ends at Camping Diana Heide.
