Walking route Eibergen and Berkel

In and around Eibergen you can enjoy beautiful walks. This route takes you through the countryside first. On a car-free road you walk past grasslands, fields and old farms. At junction L45 you cross the Berkel, a river that originates in Germany and flows into the IJssel near Zutphen. Further on you walk along a wooded area and you come across the Berkel again. You enter Eibergen on the other side of the river. You walk through the park to the Oude Mattheüskerk from 1500. Further on is the Nieuwe Mattheüskerk from 1935. This building is a pseudo-basilica inspired by the Delftse School. A few meters further on you pass two monumental villas on your left. The route ends with a snack at Hof van Ecberge.
