Tour of Coevorden, Zwinderen and the De Klencke Manor House

Your route starts at Coevorden Castle. A place with history, because the first castle was already here around 1025. The current national monument is a beautiful place to start the day with breakfast or coffee. You start with a tour along the fortress of Coevorden. Then you cycle to the authentic Drenthe esdorp Zwinderen. Nearby you dive into the nature of the tranquil Gees forest ranger's office. Between the deciduous trees, fens glisten, here and there the forest breaks open for a heathland. Havezate De Klencke is a small estate that consists of agricultural land and deciduous forest. The buildings on the estate are centuries old, they date back to the year 1520. In 1961, the estate was bequeathed to the Vereniging Natuurmonumenten.
