Description

Geldrop is ideal for a nice walk. From the picturesque centre, you first walk to the Geldropse Molen, which originally dates from the fifteenth century. In 1820, the mill was built into the wool factory. This building now houses the Geldrop Weaving Museum. The route then takes you through the Kleine Dommel valley. It is a lovely, peaceful walk in the greenery here. Around junction 69, you walk through Hout, a former hamlet. You can still see a few old farms here. On the north side of Geldrop, you walk a bit through the stream valley again. You pass Geldrop Castle here, which is surrounded by an English landscape garden. The current castle building dates from the eighteenth century. The route ends with a tasty snack at Kaffee Peijnenburg & Hotel Nijver.
