Description

It is wonderful to cycle in and around Breda. First you drive through the Mastbos. In 1515, Count Henry III of Nassau ordered this heathland to be planted with Scots pines. The trunks were used for ship masts and the forest as a hunting ground. The route takes you further to Galder, after which you cross the Mark river. On the Strijbeekse Heide you will find a mix of conifers, fens and heath. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for a day of relaxation. You enter the Markdal via Ulvenhout. Just past junction 83 you drive past the Markt in Ginneken, one of the most atmospheric places in Breda. You then cycle out of Breda along the river Aa. The route ends at Camping Liesbos.
