The Kiekberg and Sint-Jansberg are part of a moraine landscape from the Ice Age. You can enjoy a lovely walk here along clear streams and through the largest chestnut forest in the Netherlands. Every now and then you have beautiful views of the fields and grasslands on Dutch and German territory! Not only the views, but also the sunken roads are reminiscent of the South Limburg hill country. During your walk you will also experience the cultural history of this region. For example, you will pass the Bovenste Plasmolen, a national monument from 1725. On the Riethorsterweg you will see the characteristic Maria Sterre der Zee chapel from 1955. After your tour you will enjoy a traditional ice cream on the terrace of Clevers IJssalon Plasmolen.
