Description
Ede is located on the western edge of the Veluwe. With this route you will discover the cozy and historic center of this town. And of course you make a long loop from Ede through the vast natural beauty of the Veluwe.
Planks doublet
You will find many different nature reserves on the Veluwe. Such as the coniferous forests and heathlands of Planken Wambuis. Part of this nature reserve consists of forest that is allowed to develop naturally. The Luntersche Buurtbosch near Lunteren was constructed around 1890 by notary Van den Ham. West of Renkum you drive through an ancient sloping stream valley. There used to be some water mills here, now only bicycle wheels turn.
Ede
In the center of Ede you drive past the beautiful monumental station building of Ede Centrum from 1902. You also pass the Concordia, a flour mill from 1865. Next to the flour mill is a former hall farm from the second half of the nineteenth century. Just outside Ede is the Doesburgermolen, a flour mill from 1620.
