Your route starts at Hotel Cafe Restaurant"De Lindeboom\\\". In Oeding, Germany, you can see the neo-Romanesque St. Jacob's Church from 1911 with Art Nouveau elements in the windows. Along the Dutch-German border there are border posts from 1766 made of Bentheim sandstone. South of Winterswijk, the Boven-Slinge stream meanders through the land. Along the stream you drive through the Bekendelle, an old deciduous forest where alders, ash and oaks grow. Along the course of the Boven-Slinge you pass De Oliemölle, a former double water mill. The history of the mills goes back to the fourteenth century. The mills are no longer in use today. Don't worry: the combination of the stream, the bridge and the old mill buildings still provides a beautiful picture that will make you want to stop for a while!
