Cycling through the nature around Groesbeek

This route takes you through the varied nature around Groesbeek. First you cycle through the connected coniferous forests of the Mookerheide, the Wolfsberg and Heumensoord. These nature reserves are located on the slightly undulating slopes of the Nederrijnse Heuvelrug, a moraine that stretches from the German Krefeld to Nijmegen. Via Berg & Dal and Beek you descend to the Ooijpolder, a vast nature reserve of grasslands and streams. You cross the border with Germany, after which you cycle a good distance through the Duffelt. This is a low-lying region in which you see several old farms on high mounds. Via the Reichswald you enter the Netherlands again. South of Groesbeek you cycle past several vineyards.
