This route takes you along the banks of the Maas and through the rolling woods between Beesel and Reuver. Put on your walking shoes and come and enjoy this beautiful part of Limburg.
Saint Lambert Chapel
At the edge of the forest you pass the Saint Lambert chapel from 1845. From about 1350 there was a hall church here that collapsed in 1830. The Maaskeien of which this church was built were used in 1845 to erect a small chapel. In 1896 a larger brick chapel was built against it.
dragon stitches
From the Meuse bank you have a beautiful view of Kessel. You walk through the orchards along the Huilbeek that flows into the Maas here. You pass a dragon statue that refers to the legend of Saint George and the Dragon. You walk back through the woods to the starting point. How quiet it is here!
